Evripidis Stilianidis is married to Mrs
Stergioula Papachristou .Between 1984 and 1989 he studied at the Law School of the
Democretus University of Thrace in Komotini, Greece, graduating with aBachelor's degree .Between 1991 and 1994 he studied at the Law School of the
University of Hamburg graduating with aPhD in Constitutional law.Between 1994 and 1995 he served in the Artillery Corps of the
Greek military .He speaks the Greek and German languages.
Professional life
From 1991 until 1994, Dr Stilianidis worked at the
Greek General Consulate in Hamburg, Germany , cooperating with theGreek Foreign Ministry .Between 1995 and 1996 he was an advisor to the president of the
New Democracy political party in Greece in issues concerning the youth andcultural diplomacy .From 1997 until 1998, as an
European Public Law Center (EPLC) fellow, he taught in theMaster's degree programme inpublic law at the Law School of theNational and Capodistrian University of Athens .From 1997 until 2000, Dr Stilianidis was a
researcher at European Public Law Center (EPLC).Political life
Evripidis Stilianidis first got into politics in 1994 with the New Democracy political party in Greece as a
European Member of Parliament nominee.In 1996 he was a candidate
Member of Parliament (for theParliament of the Hellenes ) forRodopi in Greece, but theElection law at the time did not enable his party to elect an MP in that constituency, albeit it is claimed that he got the most votes.In 2000 he was elected, first in number of votes, a Member of the Parliament of the Hellenes for the Rodopi prefecture, a position he held until 2004.
In 2001, Evripidis Stilianidis was installed as an alternative coordinator for
foreign affairs for the New Democracy party, a position he held until 2004.In 2004 he was re-elected a Member of the Parliament of the Hellenes for the Rodopi prefecture.
He has also been a member of the
NATO Parliamentary Assembly, vice president of the Greece-Brazil and Greece-Germany, and member of the Greece-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Committees of the Parliament of the Hellenes.Minister of education and religious affairs
