- Fort of Trinidad
Trinidad was a fort in
Chile that existed on the north shore ofBio-Bio river nearLaja . It was raised during theArauco War by the Governor of theKingdom of Chile ,Alonso de Sotomayor in1585 and abandoned by him in1591 . It was destroyed by theMapuche in the Mapuche revolt after 1598. It was constructed again in 1603 byAlonso de Ribera but was abandoned a few years later.Source
