KeyNote is the name of a freeware notetaking and outlining text editor produced by Tranglos Software for the Windows operating system. It is based on the tree data structure concept, allowing "nodes" in a tree panel (much like the tree panel in Windows file managers) to represent separate fields within a single text file. Each field is then treated as a separate virtual document within the tree. Individual documents within the tree can be edited in Rich Text Format.

KeyNote is Open Source software developed in Delphi 3. As of October 2005, development of KeyNote has ceasedcite web |url=http://www.tranglos.com/free/closedown.html |title=Tranglos closedown |publisher=Tranglos |authorlink=Tranglos] .

KeyNote has been selected as Pricelessware numerous times, last time in 2007 in Organizers categorycite web |url=http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2007/PL2007ORGANIZERS.php |title=Awards won by KeyNote |publisher=Pricelessware |authorlink=Pricelessware] .
