Kenneth Albert Newing

Kenneth Albert Newing was the Anglican Bishop of Plymouth from 1982 [ The Times, Wednesday, Nov 25, 1981; pg. 14; Issue 61091; col E "Church news New Suffragan Bishop of Plymouth"] to 1988. Born on 29 August 1923, he was educated at Dover Grammar School for Boys [ Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN 9780713672576] and Selwyn College, Cambridge. After a period of study at The College of the Resurrection, Mirfield he was ordained in 1955 and began his career with a curacy at Plymstock followed by a long period as Vicar of Plympton St Maurice"Crockford's Clerical Directory 2008/2009 (100th edition)", Church House Publishing (ISBN 9780715110300).] . In 1978 he became the Archdeacon of Plymouth and four years later its Suffragan Bishop.
