First phase
The three routes that have been identified for the first phase are:

Pimpri -Chinchwad -Swargate , via Agriculture college (16.5 km, elevated)
#Aundh -Kalyaninagar , viaShivajinagar and thePune railway station (14 km, elevated)
# Agriculture College -Swargate , via JM road and Mahatre bridge (9 km, underground)Second phase
Second phase of the project will contain the extantion of first phase:
# Extantion of lines from
Chinchwad toNigdi andSwargate toKatraj (11.5 km elevated)
# Extantion of lines fromAundh toHinjewadi andKalyaninagar to Kharadi Naka (13 km elevated)
# Extantion of line fromSwargate toHadapsar (9 km elevated)Third phase
Third phase will complete the project at once and it will contain only one line:
# Agriculture college -
Warje via JM road and Karve road (9 km elevated)Technical side
The proposed routes are to be built mostly on elevated rails, with underground routes and extensions to follow in future phases. The proposed fare structure in 2013-14 is to be a minimum of Rs 8 for distances less than 2 km, and a maximum of Rs 23 for distances above 27km.
