Steve Cannon was a famous radio personality who spent the bulk of his career hosting a drive time show from 3-6 and 3-7 at times. He hosted a show on WCCO Radio 830 AM. It was dubbed the Cannon Mess. Over the years he was a friend that people turned to on their drive home. He offered the news, his own commentary, as well as comedic relief.

Cannon had his regular cast of voiced characters that include Ma linger, Backlash Larue and Morgan Mundane. It was through these characters he provided comedic relief as well as commentary on the topics of the day.

Cannon was always a character, and he did things his way. He always went against what he called the crack management staff at CCO. He spent 26 years on the Radio at WCCO. He retired in 1997, with his show taken over by Moose Miller, then later by Don Shelby, who still holds that post.
