Chris Mango (born July 19, 1989), also known as "The Mutant", Fact|date=August 2008 is a
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor and submission grappler. He is a co-owner and competitor of Westside Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Katy, Texas. Mango is a two time Pan American Juvenile Champion, and a 2007 Grapplers Quest West Gold Medalist. He is known for his creation of the "Mango Sweep", a revolutionary technique. Mango began training in Martial Arts at age 4 when his father (Enrico Mango) enrolled him in kickboxing. Mango and his family moved to Houston at age 5 and Mango continue his Martial Arts training and proceeded to win two full contact all south championships. At age 12, Mango met Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, Paul Thomas and brother Joe Thomas and began training under their Mixed Martial arts system. During his adolescence, Mango competed in various Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions and powerlifting. In highschool Chris Mango had the prestigous honor of achieving a perfect score on his SAT test. Chris Mango, his father, and Paul Thomas opened Westide Mixed Martial arts Acedemy in November 2006.
Training
Mango trains at Westide in Brazilian jiu Jitsu and MMA. He believes his opportunity to train with such talented individuals is the key to his success in competition. Mango consumes a strict diet of high protein and greens. He believes there is no substitute for hard work.
Personal life
Chris Mango's Parents are Enrico and Lucille Mango. He has a brother Michael. Mango was Married to his wife Priscilla In April 2008.
