Institute of Small Enterprises and Development (ISED)

The Institute of Small Enterprises and Development website is a center for advanced learning and practice in, industrial development, with thrust on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The Institute’s mission is to advance the theory and practice of development, and especially of enterprise development, among civil society, enterprises, policy makers, international partners, media, and other practitioners. With “sustainable development through enterprise” as its motto, the Institute is an autonomous scientific institution, with its base in Cochin, the legendary “Queen of the Arabian Sea”, in Kerala, South-West India. An organisation which draws upon diverse interests and expertise, the Institute is governed by a Board of Governors.

The Institute realises its vision and fulfill the mission through innovations in development interventions: research, business development services, publication, networking, policy dialogue, and advocacy. The ISED Programme is structured under its following Activity Centres:

* Centre for Enterprise Development
* Centre for Social Development
* Centre for Responsible Business
* Centre for Policy Studies
