reconnaissance satellite s. The project is currently managed by theNaval Research Laboratory 's Center for Space Technology and theJohns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in cooperation with theAir Force Research Laboratory and theOperationally Responsive Space Office of the Department of Defense. The TacSat satellites are all designed to demonstrate the ability to provide real-time data collected from space to combatant commanders in the field.
