Sedika

Sedika is a small town in Arsi Zone, Robe District. It is named after the clan who lived there. The clan belongs to the main group Arsi. It is the town center for many local divisions surrounding it. Sedika is located approximately 250 km in the south east of Addis Ababa. It had only secondary school but recently got upgraded to 10th grade. Many children in the local drop out schools due to difficult life situation there. Mainly those living in the lower land depending on the farm has less access to education.

The last two years, the residents in Sedika and surrounding have been affected by extreme rainfall and drought one after another. The lack of market access for their products has affected the life of many farmers and they live in very bad situation even if they are working hard.
