Hilton Cricket Club

Hilton Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club based in Hilton, Derbyshire, England. The club was established in 1904 and has grown from a small senior orientated club to having a thriving junior set up with strong links with the South Derbyshire representative side. The clubs currently runs a number of teams ranging from 2 youth level Kwik cricket sides to 3 senior teams, with the 1st XI currently playing in the Derbyshire County Cricket League 3S. As well as this the clubs is represented in the League cup competitions, as well as the Burton based 60 over Brewery Cup and the Burton Rotary Twenty20.

Ground

Since it's founding in 1904, the club have played at Marston Lane, on the outskirts of Hilton. The ground, built on fields donated to the club by the President, a local farmer, has achieved a Grade A rating from the Derbyshire County Cricket League and is known as large ground with long boundaries both square and straight of the wicket. The pavilion has been recently modified to keep up with the demands enforced by the DCCL and a separate scorebox has been built adjacent to the pavilion. In addition to this the club has two bays of nets, providing for by a Sport England donation, as well as a portable nets and Flicx wicket.

In addition to this the club procured the use of a redeveloped ground in Woodville in an arrangement to share the ground with the local school. This allowed the expansion of the club and the creation of a 3rd XI playing in the Burton and District league
