Bhaya

Bhaya

Bhaya has become a popular dialect of Hindi. Originally it is spoken by people of the state of Bihar in India. This dialect has got its name because Biharis (people from Bihar) are called as Bhayas in rest of the country. The word Bhaya has now become synonymous to friendly people. The people speaking this dialect are generally very affluent. India's current rail minister and foremost politician from Bihar, Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav, is a notable speaker of the Bhaya dialect. Sometimes people from Uttar Pradesh are also called Bhayas. A Google search on the word bhaya brings up the home pages of renowned people teaching at various universities.
