Alberto Castillo Betancourt (born July 5, 1975 in city-state|Havana|Cuba) is a Major League Baseball relief pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.

Professional career

After being selected by the San Francisco Giants in the by|1994 amateur draft, Castillo played in the Giants organization through by|1997. In by|1998, Castillo played in the New York Yankees organization. After 1998, Castillo did not play for an MLB-affiliated team until by|2008, when he played for the Baltimore Orioles' Triple-A affiliate, the Norfolk Tides, before making his major league debut on July 8, 2008. During his time out of organized baseball, Castillo played in Mexico and for the Atlantic League.
