Lynn Alvin Mickelsen (born
July 21 ,1935 ) has been ageneral authority ofThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 1990.Mickelson was born in
Idaho Falls ,Idaho . As a young man, he was a missionary in the church'sCentral America n Mission when it spanned fromGuatemala toPanama .Mickelsen studies at
Ricks College andBrigham Young University (BYU). He graduated from BYU in 1966 with a degree in agricultural economics. After this, Mickelsen operated apotato farm in Idaho and also was involved in shipping potatoes.In the LDS Church, Mickelsen has been a bishop,
stake president ,regional representative of the Twelve , and president of theColombia Cali Mission. In 1990, he became a member of theSecond Quorum of the Seventy . At the time of his call, he was serving as a temple worker in theIdaho Falls Idaho Temple , assigned to work in Spanish. In 1993, Mickelsen was transferred to theFirst Quorum of the Seventy .References
