The Lyceum Joaquín Suárez was the first public secondary school teaching of Pocitos, in the city of Montevideo. It was located at Boulevard España 2772. He shared with the Italian School in 1948 the building of Magallanes Street, which currently operates the Faculty of Humanities. In that same year Professor Juan Carlos Sabat Pebet, writer, journalist, historical researcher and poet, is appointed director of the Lyceum No. 7 Joaquín Suárez. It is he who is due to the transfer of high school to Pocitos.His current location is the site of the street Jaime Zudañez 2730.
