Bradford Perkins

Bradford Perkins is a founding partner of Perkins Eastman, an international architecture, interior design, urban design, planning, landscape architecture, graphic design, and project management firm. Prior to forming Perkins Eastman, Mr. Perkins was the Managing Partner of the New York and Washington, DC offices of Perkins + Will and the Toronto, New York, Houston, and Caracas offices of Llewelyn-Davies International. He is the son of Lawrence Perkins, FAIA, founder of Perkins + Will, and grandson of Dwight Perkins, FAIA, founder of Perkins Fellows & Hamilton.

Mr. Perkins has served as the principal-in-charge and project director on several hundred architectural, planning, and interior design projects, ranging from small renovations for non-profit clients to major new buildings totaling more than one million square feet in the US, Canada, and more than 30 countries overseas. His work includes award-winning and published projects in a variety of buildings types: housing, senior living, healthcare, education, research, office/mixed-use, hospitality, and urban design.

Mr. Perkins is frequently requested to lecture at institutions like Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, and Cornell Universities. He has served as a faculty member of the College of Architecture at the City College of New York and is currently a member of the faculty at the University of Hawaii. In addition, he frequently contributes to associations like the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, Health Care Symposium, American Hospital Association, Hospitality Design Conference, International Conference on Intelligent Office Building Design, and various chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Mr. Perkins has authored more than 80 articles on various architectural and planning topics, as well as several books. Mr. Perkins is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), a former Director of the New York Chapter of the AIA, and has served as President of the New York State Association of Consulting Planners. He is also a member of the Ontario Association of Architects, the American Planning Association, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and the American Institute of Certified Planners. Mr. Perkins received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York Society of Architects, and he was recognized with the Platinum Circle Award from the Hospitality Design Association.

Among his many civic responsibilities, Mr. Perkins serves as Chairman of the Board of Helen Keller International (HKI), a leading not-for-profit that focuses on blindness prevention and nutrition in underdeveloped areas around the world.
