Tim Mattran is an American football offensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. He played college football at Stanford University and was signed as an undrafted free agent.

High school career

College career

A walk-on at Stanford, Mattran didn't play during his first two seasons. During his third year, however, he was used as a reserve and, by 2005, was the starting center. A serious ankle injury prevented him from playing in 2006, but he returned as a starter in 2007 after the NCAA granted him a rare 6th year of eligibility.

Pro career

He picked Minnesota over the Baltimore Ravens because he wanted the chance to be close to home and also to learn from Pro Bowl Center Matt Birk.
