Characters in the House of Night Series

This is a list of all the characters in the "House of Night series" written by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast.

Characters

Zoey Redbird

Zoey Redbird is a teenage girl born on December 24th from Cherokee ancestry. Zoey is a third former vampyre fledgling who is blessed by the Goddess of Night, Nyx. Zoey is very special because she is the only fledgling ever to have her Mark filled in so soon and she is the only one in history to have an affinity for all five elements. On top of that, Zoey is the leader of the Dark Daughters, an exclusive school club. Through her new vampyre life, she has to deal with more than an average teenager should. Once, long ago she was terrified of taking a geometry test, now what is in store for this vampyre fledgling?

tevie Rae Johnson

Stevie Rae is Zoey's best friend, also a third former vamp. She is Zoey's roommate, and is an Oklahoma girl with a distinct accent. Stevie Rae came to the House of Night from Henrietta, Oklahoma, home of the Fighting Hens. She has short blond curly hair and is often compared to a wriggling puppy. She has an affinity for earth. Stevie Rae is a caring, sweet girl who wouldn't hurt a fly. She rejects the Change in "Betrayed" and dies. In "Betrayed", Zoey, after saving her Imprinted almost-ex boyfriend Heath, finds an undead Stevie Rae. She does not know how it happened to her but Stevie Rae says: "if she finds you, she will kill you." In "Chosen", Zoey finds and hides Stevie Ray in Aphrodite's house. One month after her death, Stevie Rae sneaks back into House of Night and is cured by Zoey and her friends, including Aphrodite, and fully completes the change.

Damien Maslin

Damien is the only boy in the group of Zoey's new friends. He is gay and certainly doesn't hide it, what with his feminine tendencies and immense knowledge of vocabulary. He has an affinity for air, a rare gift for any male vampyre. He is in a relationship with vampyre fledgling Jack Twist. His eyes are described as 'deer-like' and he is said to be cute, with a zit free face and dark brown hair.

haunee Cole

Shaunee Cole is a fourth former, or a sophomore, at the House of Night. She has a very close connection with Erin Bates. So close, everyone refers to them as being the Twins because of their freakishly similar thoughts and actions. Shaunee and Erin are obviously different looking however: Shaunee is 'of Jamaican descent and a lovely mocha color' from Connecticut and 'Erin being an extremely white girl from Tulsa'. Shaunee is very faithful to her friends. Shaunee has an affinity for fire. Shaunee and Erin have a good taste in fashion and love to tease Damien about his love life (or lack thereof).

Erin Bates

Erin is the other half of the Twins. She is 'an extremely white girl from Tulsa'. Even though her and Shaunee Cole look nothing alike, they are so alike people call them Twins. She is a fourth former, or Sophomore, at the House of Night and has an affinity for water. She is extremely pretty and very wise.

Neferet

The Head Priestess of the House of Night and Zoey Redbird's mentor. We, at first, see Neferet as a sweet, protective, motherly figure to Zoey, but later on in the novels, we find out a deep dark secret... She is described as being strong, but curvy, with 'great boobs'. She has 'amazingly straight white teeth'. Neferet's vampyre marks are 'lines that remind Zoey of ocean waves framed from her brows, extending down around her high cheekbones'. Neferet has an affinity for healing and felines. She makes an astounding effect on people, being 'amazing and awe-inspiring'. Neferet gave an oath to Sylvia Redbird, Zoey's grandmother, that Zoey would be safe at the House of Night. But Zoey feels that she might not be able to trust her.

Aphrodite

Zoey's sworn enemy, but, as we find out, Zoey's most trusted ally. She was the Leader of the Dark Daughters when Zoey was first Marked. For being extremely irresponsible, Neferet took away her position as Leader of the Daughters and granted it to Zoey. She has the power of having visions. Even though she and Zoey hate each other, things change and so do they. She develops an affinity for earth after Zoey asked Nyx for help in Chosen. At the end of Chosen as a result of saving Stevie Rae she becomes a human again.

Deino, Enyo, Pemphedro

Terrible, Warlike, and Wasp. Three girls that were in Aphrodite's 'in' crowd until the end of Marked.

Heath Luck

Heath was Zoey's human boyfriend. After accidentally sucking his blood in Marked, Zoey had an unofficial relationship with Heath until the end of Chosen, when their Imprint was broken. At the beginning of Marked, Heath is said to be drinking frequently and on drugs, with the rest of the Broken Arrow football team. In Betrayed, Heath is captured by Neferet's undead creatures. Thanks to his and Zoey's Imprint, she is able to rescue him, but not before Neferet can reset his memory of the incident, leaving Heath thinking a hobo kidnapped him. When Zoey Inprinted with Loren their Imprint was broken.

Erik Night

A fifth former and boyfriend of Zoey until the end of Chosen where he walks to find that Zoey has slept with Loren. He is known for his acting talents, placing several times in poetry contests and being seriously considered on Broadway. He used to have a relationship with Aphrodite, but considers her the same as the others now: a hateful hag. He has deep blue eyes and dark hair; therefore he is repeatedly described as being gorgeous looking with Superman-type looks. At the end of Chosen he changes into an adult vampyre. In Untamed, Erik starts teaching drama at the House of Night.

Loren Blake

The Poet Laureate at the House of Night and third boyfriend of Zoey's. He is described as incredibly handsome (as all adult vamps are) and has a mark that resembles lightning bolts. He woos Zoey throughout the novels and keeps playing with Zoey's mind, thus causing trouble in her already complicated life when Erik Night walks in after Loren and Zoey have sex. He is killed at the end of Chosen possibly by the People of Faith. Before his death, Zoey discovers that his affections for her were fake, and everything between them was a result of one of Neferet's plans to ruin Zoey.

Grandma Redbird

Zoey's Cherokee grandmother, on her mother's side. Grandma Redbird lives on a lavandar farm, and her and Zoey are extremely close, especially since Zoey's mother remarried. Whenever Zoey has a problem she can always count on her grandma to help her feel better. Somewhere is untamed she gets into a horrible car accident where she then goes into the ICU. We still don't know if she will be all right.

Jack Twist

A newcomer to the House of Night who is dating Damien Maslin. He does all of the technical work for the Full Moon Rituals and such. He's also Damiens new boyfriend. Jack also takes care of Starks dog, Duchess, after Starks death.

James Stark

Perfered to be called Stark. Stark is not new to being a fledging, he just moved House of Night houses. Stark comes into the series in Untamed. He has an instant connection with Zoey, but that connection is instantly taken away when something terrible happens to him. ( Stark also has a power of never missing with a bow and arrow ).
