Jean-Marie Musy (
April 10 ,1876 -April 19 ,1952 ) was a Swiss politician.He was elected to the
Federal Council of Switzerland onDecember 11 ,1919 , and handed over office onApril 30 ,1934 . He was affiliated with theChristian Democratic People's Party of Switzerland .During his time in office he held the Department of Finance and was President of the Confederation twice, in 1925 and 1930.
During
World War II he and his sonBenoît Nicolas Musy were involved in the release of 1210 prisoners from theTheresienstadt concentration camp . The group was saved after $1.25 million was placed in Swiss banks by Jewish organizations working in Switzerland.Another son, Pierre, won the four-man bobsleigh gold medal at the
1936 Winter Olympics inGarmisch-Partenkirchen ,Germany .External links
