Raul de Armas

Raul de Armas (1941- ) is a Cuban-born architect who has designed and completed many major buildings in the United States, Europe, Canada, and the Middle East in his career of more than 35 years, winning numerous design awards.

De Armas came to New York in 1958 at the age of 17.Weeks, Katie (March 2004) "Modernism today: combining functionality, technology, and beauty, Modernism continues to win admirers" "Contract" 46(3): pp.42-43] He studied architecture at Cornell University.

Until he resigned in 1991, he was a partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill being in charge of interior design for their New York office. [Staff (August 1991) "David Childs" "Interior Design" 62(11): p. 46] Since 1992 [Russell, Beverly (Nov 1992) "Two at the top" "Interiors" 151(11): pp.54-55, (about architects Leon Moed and Raul de Armas)] , he has been a partner in the firm of Moed, de Armas & Shannon Architects in New York.
