Looking Glass Studios as a quality assurance tester for "Flight Unlimited ", a flight simulator for DOS. After a few years working as a technical support representative, Michael moved over to the design team and worked as a level designer on "", the first title in the "Thief Series". He later joined the design team of "System Shock 2 ", which was co-developed byLooking Glass Studios andIrrational Games , and published byElectronic Arts in 1999.A few months after
Looking Glass Studios closed its doors in May 2000, Michael joinedMad Doc Software , a newly-formed company just north ofBoston . He worked as a designer on a number of projects, including "", a real-time strategy game published byActivision , and an expansion pack for "Return to Castle Wolfenstein ", which was eventually cancelled and released as a free multiplayer-only download.In late 2003, Michael co-founded
