Ronald Bartell (born February 22, 1982 in Detroit, Michigan) is a National Football League defensive back for the St. Louis Rams. He played college football at Howard University and was selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Bartell was the first Howard football player picked prior to the 6th round of the NFL Draft.

College career

Bartell played college football at Howard University where he started in 38 out of 45 games and was a administration of criminal justice major.

Professional career

Bartell was selected by the St.Louis Rams in the second round (50th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft. In his rookie season he played in ten games making seven starts and recorded 34 tackles. In the 2006 season he made 25 tackles and three interceptions. His first career interception came at the Oakland Raiders on December 17. Last season was a career high one in terms of tackles made as he ended the campaign with 67 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.
