PortalEditions publishes classics and essays on imaginative art, especially literature. The publisher's declared aim is that its books should be considered "passports to places that will not only stimulate our imagination, but also make us perceive new perspectives that may help us face the intellectual, artistic, spiritual and social challenges posed by the modern world, today".

The first title, a collection of essays on the literature and philosophy of J.R.R. Tolkien written by Eduardo Segura titled "J.R.R. Tolkien: Mitopoeia y Mitología. Reflexiones bajo la luz refractada", will be launched in September 2008. Future titles will be published in English, Spanish and Swedish within projected series such as Gothic fiction , English and German Romanticism, modern fantasy literature, the works of the Inklings (among others, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis), and North American literature.
