- RS600 (dinghy)
The RS600 is a fast, light-weight sailing dinghy designed by Clive Everest and Nick Peters. It is a single hander with trapeze and racks. It has a PY [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_yardstick] of 920. Built (or alteast suppiled by) Racing Sailboats in the UK.
The RS600 has an epoxy hull, with aluminium racks available in 2 sizes, depending on the helm's weight. The mast is stayed, rotating, carbon fibre with a removable bottom section, allowing the mast to be shortened when the sail is reefed. Sail plan is a single Mylar fully battened main sail, with a zip in reef.
Since 2007 the RS600 is available with hydrofoils, built by Full Force Boats in Weymouth UK. In 2008 a new sail to match the hydrofoil version should be available. The hydrofoil version known as the
RS600FF is a standard RS600 hull with rudder gantry, different foils and a wand attached to the bow. MostRS600FF 's are retro fitted RS600's, though new built boats are or will be available in both varieties.RS600 Technical Specifications [http://www.rs-association.com/index.asp?fleet=RS600&selection=technicalbulletins RS Class Association - RS600 Owners Club]
