Lucy McKim Garrison

Lucy McKim Garrison was an American song collector, contributor to "Slave Songs of the United States". Her work in Port Royal, South Carolina constitutes the first attempt systematically describe the characteristics of African American spirituals. [Chase, pg. 220-221] [Darden, pg. 99]
