The high school's mascots are the Sammies and Suzies, named after a local gun-toting legend. The school has won many division, district and a couple of state titles in mens and womens soccer. They compete in Division 2 of the Dual Valley Conference IDVC). The school's teams include track, cross country, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, indoor track, softball, and football in collaboration with Oxford and Millbury High School. The basketball program has been successful. In 2008, the Sammies and Suzies made it to the district finals before being defeated.
Coach Romasco
Coach Stephen Romasco was a history teacher at the high school. At the time the basketball team was lowly at best but when he took over, he changed the whole face of the program. He made the players wear dress clothes to the games and virtually transformed the system. But why mention this coach? In 2005, the night before the finals of the Clark Tournament, Coach Romasco died of an unexpected stroke.
