Alexander Marcus (born 24 December 1979) is a persona of the German house music producer Felix Rennefeld.spiegel.de [http://www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/0,1518,549506,00.html Youtube-Star Alexander Marcus: Schlagerfuzzi 2.0] ] He has become popular throughout Germany after a series of videos he produced and displayed on youtube.

Biography

Born in Berlin, shortly after his parents were divorced, his mother gave Alexander to his grandmother in the country to grow up. Through them he took part in the popular children's dance group "Edelweißchen". After his 18th birthday Marcus lived in New York and Miami and then learned international and electronic music. There was the idea of both styles to mix. Since 2005, Alexander lives in Berlin. Style and meaning

His music is a mixture of modern electronic club music and folk music, he himself calls this Electro Lore, a combined word from Electro and folklore. [alexander-marcus.de [http://www.alexander-marcus.de/electrolore.htm Electrolore] ] Alexander Marcus exaggerates many of the clichés present in pop music and accompanied them in his music videos by cheap artifacts like a omnipresent Plastic Globe called Globi. Spiegel Online sees the character as a typical example of a return to the company arrived pop-art social criticism. Never breaking out of character, the question of whether it is a parody, unanswered: "|The idea that the guy really as barmy as he seems, remains at least possible.|Uh-Young Kim for Spiegel Online
