Linda Bangs-Urban

Linda Ann Bangs is a saxophonist. She was born in Waverly, New York, United States and studied the saxophone under Laurence Wyman at the SUNY College of Fredonia as well as with the well-known saxophonist Sigurd M. Raschèr.

As a result of meeting composers from many countries, Linda Bangs has earned the baritone saxophone recognition as a solo instrument. Between the year of its foundation in 1969 and 1992 she was a member of the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet, concertizing in many parts of the world. She has participated in more than 200 world premiere performances as soloist, conductor and chamber musician.

She can be heard on numerous CD and radio recordings in Europe and the USA. Linda Bangs teaches at the Akadamie für Tonkunst Darmsadt and the Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany. In addition, she is active giving master classes throughout Europe and America.
