Bertram Gawronski is a Social Psychologist, a current Canada Research Chair in Social Psychology (Tier II), and, since 2008, Associate Professor of Psychology atThe University of Western Ontario .According to Gawronski's CV on his current website [(Dr. Bertram Gawronski, Ph.D. Homepage: http://publish.uwo.ca/~bgawrons)] , in 1995 he graduated with a B. A. in Philosophy from the
University of Wurzburg , Germany and in 1998 he completed a M. A. in Philosophy atFree University in Berlin, Germany. In 2001, he completed his Ph. D. in Psychology at theHumboldt University Berlin, Germany. From 2002 to 2004, Gawronski completed a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Galen Bodenhausen in the Department of Psychology atNorthwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. He then accepted a tenure-track position atThe University of Western Ontario in 2004.Awards
Gawronski has won numerous awards including the Charlotte-and-Karl-Buhler Prize 2008 from the
German Psychological Association , the Early Career Award 2006 from theInternational Social Cognition Network , and the Theoretical Innovation Prize 2006 from theSociety for Personality and Social Psychology .Areas of Research
According to his website, Bertram Gawronski, and the Social Cognition Lab he directs, is mainly interested in the influence of automatic and controlled processes on human behavior, paying particular attention to how these processes interact to influence social behavior and what factors lead to changes in one or both kinds of processes.
