Karabash ( _ru. Караба́ш, _tt. Карабаш|Qarabaş), is urban-type settlement (since 1957) in Bugulminsky Distict, Tatarstan, Russian Federation, located 27 kilometers north-west of Bugulma, district's administrative center. It is situated on the confluence of Zay and Steppe Zay Rivers. The settlement is known since 1664.
Population: 5,100 (2000 est.); 4,900 (1997); 4,300 (1989; ethnic Tatars – 80.1%,ethnic Russians – 14.1%). There are oil industry firm NGDU "Irkenneft", two secondary schools, club, hospital and mosque in Karabash. The Karabash Reservoir is located near the settlement.
