trombone from Bb into F. He cannot be credit with the "initial" invention of this system (called a "plug") but merely with the development of it as a "detachable" system.Currently the majority of trombones are either "straight" trombones, with no "plug" or Bb/F trombones "with" a plug. The detachable plug gives the player both the option of having a plug or not having one, without having to buy more than one trombone. This system has not as yet, been commercially marketed.Educational Input
