Shannon F. Reeves is the National Director of State and Local Development for the
Republican National Committee . He serves as the Party’s liaison between state, county and local Republican organizations on candidate support, professional development, and strategic positioning of the Party’s efforts in local communities. He is also the Party’s leading expert on African American voting trends, demographic changes and community constituencies.Career
As the former Secretary of the
California Republican Party , Mr. Reeves served as the highest-ranking African-American Party official elected in the State. His State Party experience explains his passion for state and local politics. He has a conservative message of personal responsibility that has been delivered around the country for which he gained a reputation in his hometown ofOakland, CA for being “Mr. No More Excuses!”In December 2004, he completed his fourth and final term as President of the Oakland, CA branch of the
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) serving as its youngest President while at the same time holding office as Secretary of the California Republican Party. As an NAACP life member and volunteer President, he increased the membership of the Oakland branch from 900 to over 4,000 and raised over $1 million dollars for the Oakland branch during his tenure. He has served the NAACP in eleven different capacities, serving fourteen states during his twenty-three years of activism with the organization. His NAACP tenure allowed him to serve in numerous capacities including serving as the youngest member of the NAACP National Board of Directors, Western Regional Director in Los Angeles and Southwest Regional Director in Dallas.As an entrepreneur from 1997 – 2007, Mr. Reeves served as Chief Executive Officer, Urban Petroleum, LLC, which was a
Chevron branded gas and convenience store operation in Oakland, CA. This business enterprise was launched in the same tough neighborhood where he grew up. While maintaining a staff of approximately 37 employees, his inner city business generated annual sales of approximately $13 million dollars.Mr. Reeves has served on numerous boards including the California Republican Party, the
National Black Chamber of Commerce , theOakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce , theNational Association of Convenience Stores PAC and theCalifornia Beverage Merchants .Personal
Mr. Reeves is a 1991 graduate of
Grambling State University of Louisiana and is a life member of the school’s alumni association. He resides in theDallas–Fort Worth Metroplex .External links
