James Hawksley (born 5 February 1989) is an Australian Rules Footballer for Brisbane Lions in AFL.He is 187cm tall and weighs 73 kg. He wears the famous number 12 jersey formerly wore by Jason Akermanis (now plays for Western Bulldogs).
Known for his ability to find space, hard running and accurate kicks.He is often compared to
Jason Akermanis due to similar physical resemblance and playing style, but will need to prove himself to play regularly with the senior team despite his impressive performance in AFLQ for Suncoast Lions (Brisbane Lion second team). He also previously represented Western Australia at under 18. James is also an accomplished cricketer and represented his native Western Australia at different junior age levels.Brisbane Lions
James Hawksley debuted against Fremantle, 8th Jun 2008 round 11. He had 6 disposals (3 handball and kicks) and 2 marks against Fremantle Dockers.However, he was dropped next match and returned to Suncoast Lions. Despite his drop from the first team, he continued to impress in AFLQ and was named many times for emergencies for the first team. He eventually won his way back into the senior team following strong form in the QAFL and played in Rounds 19 and 20 of the 2008 season against Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs where he collected 14 and 17 possessions respectively.
