"Germaine Arnaktauyok" (born 1946) is an
Inuit artist fromIgloolik . Her artistic output consists oflithograph s,etching s, andserigraph s that illustrate Inuit myths and traditional ways of life. She is one of the few Inuit artists to have received formal art training, attending theUniversity of Manitoba School of Art from 1969-70.Honors and Exhibits
* Designed the tail end of the two dollar coin issued by the
Royal Canadian Mint in 1999 to commemorate the inception of the province of Nunavut.
