"Annie" is a hit Broadway musical. It opened in 1977 on Broadway starring Kristen Vigard as the title role. Vigard's "sweet" personality didn't work for the role of Annie. She is a street smart tough little girl. Andrea McArdle, who played one of the orphans replaced Vigard. The orphans were played by Danielle Brisebois (Molly), Diana Barrows (Tessie), Robyn Finn (Pepper), Janine Ruane (July), Donna Graham (Duffy), and Shelly Bruce (Kate). Some of the adult stars were Reid Shelton as Daddy Warbucks, Dorothy Loudon as Miss Hannigan, and Sandy Faison as Grace Farrel.
Andrea McArdle
Andrea McArdle became a singing legand from "Annie". "Tomorrow" was probably the biggest hit she has ever sung and will sing. On the side of musical theater, she has been in more than thirty commercials.
Danielle Brisebois
Danielle Brisebois won the New York State Talent Contest when she was just four years old. She has appeared in commercials and still sings and tap dances in clubs today.
Diana Barrows
Diana Barrows started acting at age one in local commercials. Since then, she has performed in the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Robyn Finn
Robyn Finn has acted in several commercials. Her voice will be heard in several singing commercials as well. She has also made many TV appearances.
Janine Ruane
Janie Ruane has appeared in national tours inclucding The Sound of Music and Here's Love. She still does commercials.
Dianna Graham
Diane Graham has done numerous commercials and recordings. She models and acts in Dinner Theaters. She also sings in clubs.
Shelly Bruce
Shelly Bruce's debut was at age seven in The Children's Mass. After she played Kate, she went on to play Annie.
Recordings
The "Annie" original cast recorded an album titled "Annie". It included all of the songs from the popular hit musical.
