Shakthi Scott

Shakthi Scott(Originally R. Thillai Shakthi Kumar; born January 26, 1988), better known by his screen name Shakthi Scott, is an Indian short movie maker and a music artist. Animation Express, Ananda Vikatan and many other magazines talked about his achievement in making short films. His first short movie was the 2007 film Peril, which has been described as "A career-maker" for the director.After making the Peril, Shakthi Scott continued in this vein, making an apocalypse short film 2012: based on Mayan's calendar end date. In addition to these directional ventures, he also played lead actor roles in his films and worked CG/VFX for his movies.

Being the founder and team leader of Spaaz music band, Shakthi Scott have composed and written several songs which was performed by Shakthi Scott, Pravance, Jaffy and Satspyke of Spaaz. Their leaked out song Teens From Dreams from upcoming album became famous for his new trend music.Shakthi Scott also composed music for his Peril and 2012 short movies which received a positive critics.

Family and early life

Shakthi was born in Chennai, India,the son of R.Banuchitra ,a highly awarded exhibition & fashion designer, and L. Ravichandran, an exhibition contractor and a business man. Shakthi has won several 1st Prize in drawing competition and a winner of All India Drawing Competition. When he was 9 years old, he learned Chess and defeated all the students and also Principle of his school. At the age of 11 Shakthi joined FSCA, a cricket coaching centre of Sadagopan Ramesh and Robin Singh(Indian international cricket players) he played as one of the team captain and came back to studies after feeling it is hard. Shakthi's interest on computer graphics made him learn multimedia from his childhood and became the winner of India's Best Student & Won Best Work.

Shakthi bought a musical keyboard at price of Rs.150 which created a musical talent in him and bought a professional keyboard later. Learning music on his own, Shakthi started to write songs and compose musics.

Movies

Short Movies career2004 - 2005 Shakthi Scott and his friends Shahri,Jaffy starred in an experimental shortmovie Scooby Doo - India, in which Shakthi worked for the first time.In 2005, Shakthi Directed Friends Group short movie, he was also one of many teenaged stars to appear in this movie . The cast for this film included Shakthi Scott, Pravance, Jaffy, Satspyke, Vignesh and Shahri, most of the film were shot with blue matte.

2007

A third film that was made for contest On The Lot by Star TV and Steven Spielberg, Peril in 2007 was a sci fi movie. It received positive critics across the world.Many magazines and Websites featured article about this one man show movie.Shakthi wrote, directed, acted, choreographed and composed music for this movie. He also credited as director of cinematography, CG/VFX artist and sound mixer. Shakthi just took 3 nights to finish this movie, approximately working 8 hours everynight and 4 hours a day.

2008 - Present

Shakthi Scott currently working on 2012 project which is scheduled to release in September. It is based on mayan's calendar end date and the apocalypse. The film is being shot in Chennai and using lots of VFX for scenes involving earthquake, tsunami, sandstorm and snowfall.

Future projects

Shakthi Scott, Pravance, Jaffy and Satspyke have planned to launch their production company Friends Group in 2009. Remember the Friends Group name was the title of their first short film. Shakthi Scott announced that he starts directing an animated film by next year under Friends Group Production.

Music

Shakthi Scott learned music on his own interest and his friends Pravance, Jaffy and Satspyke joined him. After learning enough to compose , Shakthi formed Spaaz with Pravance, Jaffy and Satspyke. Shakthi writes songs, compose music and sings rock & pop in Spaaz.Shakthi as Team Leader of Spaaz made their album Teens From Dreams, which is set to release in 2008 november. The song Teens From Dreams leaked out and became famous for its new trend music.

CG/VFX

Shakthi is very populour in Multimedia field for his international standard works. He is known as only youngest Indian to work 80 softwares and won competition against International CG artists. Shakthi wanted to direct an animated movie at the age of 18 but he didnt get a good budget to make it. So Shakthi, Pravance,Jaffy and Satspyke planned to earn money for 3 years working hard and launch their own production company to make movies. In January 1,2007 Shakthi started working as CG/VFX artist for Indian movies and International commercials. Now Shakthi planned to continue his career as CG/VFX artist up to 2009 summer in Indian Artists and work for Robot - Enthiran project.
