BNS Osman

BNS "Osman" is a modified Type 053H frigate of the Bangladeshi Navy, bought in 1989 from China. She is the first missile capable frigate of the Bangladeshi Navy.

Career

The "Osman" is currently moored at Chittagong, serving with the Commodore Commanding BN Flotilla (COMBAN). About 250 personnel serve aboard "Osman", with most living aboard her. She is one of five frigates in the navy, but is the only one with modern missile technology, which has recently been upgraded with the help of the Chinese Navy.
