Mario Lomarto
Biography
Mario Lomarto (Zsolt VIZVÁRI) was born in Hungary on 1 July 1964. Between 1994 and 1999 he studied at the Intermedia Faculty of Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. He was interested mainly in video art and installation, his films were presented in Hungary and in Germany, and he had a light installation in the French Institute of Budapest.
He treats with the human, and mainly face portrayals of ancient and modern civilizations. He blends these with the characteristic portraying patterns, and making it modern, creating a picture for example by a collage-like technique. By constructing the ancient depicting methods and forms with contemporaneous artistic tools a very special and original world is created. He is especially interested in mythical characters, cosmic topics and mythological stories.
