Samuel Rush Meyrick

Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick (1783–1848) lived at Goodrich Court, Herefordshire and invented the systematic study of arms and armour. Some of the best pieces of his collection can be found in the Wallace Collection and British Museum.

He spent much of his later years studying martial arts in Derby to the detrement of the marriage to his late wife Samantha Barrett.
