"Straight from the Heart" is a television film.

Plot

A photographer from New York City Jordan Donovan (Teri Polo) is set up with Tyler Ross (Andrew McCarthy) a Wyoming rancher, by her roommate after her boyfriend fails to commit to marriage after year of dating. Jordan flies to Wyoming to meet Tyler his family, his sister Laurie and her fiancee. He acts rude to her and she learns his sister placed his ad in the singles magazine. Jordan photographs Tyler as he works with the horses, capturing the cowboy spirit of the old west. Jordan and Tyler find themselves drawn to each other. But Tyler resists getting involved as still feels commited to his late wife. There are poignant moments as he remimneses about his late wife and child. The scene turns romanatic as his sister's wedding day approaches. Tyler and Jordan have a tender moment as they dance to "Cowgirl's Rodeo" by Kevin Banford. A run in with his former father-in-law causes tension between with Jordan and Tyler. Jordan's ex-boyfriend retuns, asking her to marry him. Jordan accepts and retun to New York. But, Jordan find dragging him into marriage isn't right for either of them, and breaks the engagement. At a gallery show for her western photgraphy, Jordan is surprised by Tyler, who entering bringing the foal they save. He presents her with foal as a "bride gift" as he asks her to mary him. This is a great movie with a romantic story line, a breathtaking setting in the Wyoming countryside, and a second story focusing on the issue of saving the wild mustangs.
