Qormi . The Club has been Maltese Champion three times and has won all the major honours in the country in the senior and junior categories.History
Qormi Hockey Club was founded way back in 1971 when "Chossie" Kerr a teacher at Guze Galea Boys' Secondary School decided to start teaching Hockey to his students. 37 years have passed and Hockey is one of the main sports disciplines in Qormi.
The beginning was very difficult. The players did not have anywhere to meet and where to practice. Training sessions were held in a garage or in the cellar of Qormi F.C. This did not stop the players from practising. Later on the team settled at the Manwel Dimech Sports Complex where Qormi Hockey Club was established. These premises have evolved into one of the best Hockey facilities on the island. The Club now has 2 synthetic pitches where Hockey and Football are played on a daily basis. There are also dressing rooms, a play area for children and a bar.
The Club consists of approximately 150 players of all ages. Qormi H.C. has junior teams at the levels of Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. All these teams take part in the National Leagues organised by the Malta Hockey Association. There are 2 senior teams. The Reserves team which takes part in the 9-a-side league and the Senior team which takes part in the National Hockey League.
