Garry Williamson Barnes (born
January 24 ,1982 in Darlington, UK) is an Englishfootball player who currently plays striker for West Auckland Town in the Northern League.Barnes was formally known as Garry Williamson until 2002 when he changed his name to Garry Williamson Barnes. Barnes career started when he signed for Middlesbrough F.C as a school boy and YTS, then went onto sign professional terms for
Darlington F.C. In the year 2001 Barnes moved to the USA to sign for
Yavapia (Arizona) then onto L.A. when he was named in the Men's Soccer All-Region Team before returning home and signing for Shildon F.C. in theAlbany Northern League where he was awarded the number 10 shirt. Whilst playing for Shildon, Barnes scored a record 53 goals in 52 appearances in the 2003/2004 season, netting him the award of top goal scorer in the league, the F.A Cup and making him The Northern League Player of the Year. In the same year Shildon went on to reach the 2nd Round in the F.A Cup only to be beaten by a highly rated Notts County side 6-2 where Barnes scored a penalty in the 53rd minute.On
July 21 ,2004 Barnes signed forDurham City F.C. before being bought byNewcastle Blue Star where he went onto win the League and the League Cup. Barnes currently plays forWest Auckland Town F.C.
