Cabaret is a city North of Port-au-Prince. Boucassin used to be the name of the locality under the total control of ARCAHAIE,since 1934 by the govenement of Stenio Vincent. Boucassin became a province (commune); at one point and it was named Cabaret, because it was the common name of the Central Point. In 1957, when PAPA DOC rise to power, he wanted to thank the population of Cabaret who overwhelmingly vote for his gorvernement and renovated the central point. He then renamed all the commune Duvallier-Ville. In 1986, after the uprising against the Duvalier Regime and his son Jean Claude Duvalier forced into exile, the population appointed again the old name CABARET.

CENTRAL POINT French for Rond Point, referring to the central Municipal Distric of Cabaret, and it surrounding areas which include, The Mayor's Office, the Teleco Public Call Center, Thre Club/Hotel Resort "Innovation, Bar and Restaurant", the Central business called "Rue du magasin", the puclic Market Place, the Catholic Church "Notre Dame du Mont Carmel", a Theater Center, A Roster Competition center called "Aux Eperons". Gingerbread-styled houses are also very common among Central Point area, and it is very common to find whole blocks with the same architectural design."
