- Portfwd.exe
Portfwd.exe is the name of the
Windows Home Server Port Forwarding service. It enables the adding and deleting of port mappings on a UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) router. This .exe file has known issues whereby it can use in excess of 90% CPU time, thus slowing yourWindows Home Server (WHS) to almost unuseable speeds and causing slow running when trying to connect via another computer using the Windows Home Server Console.A suggested fix is to disable this service by going to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, scroll down to Windows Home Server Port Forwarding, right-click and select Properties. Then in the Startup type drop down box, select Disabled.
