Julius Rolshoven

Julius Rolshoven [http://www.juliusrolshoven.com/] (1858-1930)

Rolshoven was a skillful artist among others painting a lot of beautiful women.

He was born and raised in Detroit.

Julius Rolshoven joined the Cooper Union Art School, then the Düsseldorf Academy.

Rolshoven continued to Munich. Finally he spent a year in Venice and some time in Florence before returning to the United States at the beginning of World War I.

Rolshoven went to Taos on his honeymoon and painted in New Mexico from 1916 to 1920.

From 1920 until his death he moved back and forth between Florence and New Mexico.
