Thomas A. Walker

Thomas A. Walker

Thomas A. Walker (c. 1828 - November 1889) was an English civil engineering contractor. He is best known for completing the Severn Tunnel at the request of Sir John Hawkshaw, after the flooding of the workings in 1879. He died shortly after completion of the tunnel, in Novembr 1889, at the age of 61.

In 1888 (see below) he had completed a monograph describing his part in the Tunnel construction, which is still of considerable interest.
