Ignace Tirkey

Ignace Tirkey

Ignacious ("Ignace") Tirkey (born May 10, 1981 in Lulkidihi, Navapara in the Sundargarh District, Orissa) is a member of India's Field Hockey team, who competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where India finished seventh. He is playing in midfield, and belongs to the Oraon tribe of Chota Nagpur. Tirkey made his debut for the national side in February 2001, at the Akbar el Yom Tournament in Cairo against Belgium.
