Count Basie Live in Japan '78 is a LP album taped live in concert by the Shizuoka Broadcasting System during a live concert by Count Basie and his orchestra before an audience at Shimin Kaikan (Public Hall), Hamamatsu City, Japan on 21 May 1978. It was produced for Japanese broadcast by Asao Gojoh, Masashi Imamura and Nobuo Satoh, by recording engineers Jitsuji Honda, Yishihisa Natoh and Hiroyuki Enari.

The album was produced in Japan by Polydor K.K. by producer Norman Granz, issued in 1985 on the Pablo Live label and marketed in Germany by Bernhard Mikulski in Elbtal-Dorchheim.
