Soon Ae Hong (February 22, 1914 to _____) was best known within the Unification Church for being Rev. Moon's mother-in-law. During her later years, she was called "Grandmother Hong" by church mumbers. After her death, she was given the title Dae Mo Nim (literally "Great Mother") [Rev. Moon's own mother was also given a posthumous title, Choong Mo Nim, literally "Middle Mother" or junior mother)] Mrs. Hong is considered a member of the "True Family".

According to official church teaching, the medium Hyo Nam Kim has been "channeling" her since the mid-1990s at the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center in Korea.Fact|date=July 2008 When hoping to communicate with the departed spirit of Mrs. Hong, members use "Dae Mo Nim" as a form of address; see returning resurrection.

A portion of a message attributed to Hong (via mediumistic chanelling) included the following quotation:

You must get rid of your fallen nature and rid yourselves of envy, jealousy, anger, hatred, falsehood, greed, selfishness, and arrogance. Husbands and wives should not fight each other and should become one with their children. At the same time, you must stay away from drinking, smoking, and using drugs; you must not trample on the hearts of other people; you must not use public money for your private needs; and you must not be lustful. You must not feel lust towards other women and other men. (July 21, 2004) [ [http://eng.cheongpyeong.org/cpspeech/speech_view.asp?bbs_num=626&page=1&id_num=25&bbs_id=25 "Dae Mo Nim's Speeches"] ]

There was one other officially sanctioned, long-term mediumistic channel in the Unification Church, known as the Black Heung Jin Nim.Fact|date=August 2008
