Rowena E. Simpson is the seventh and current mayor of

Hartfield, New Brunswick , onMarch 20 ,1946 .Mayor Simpson previously served as deputy mayor and councillor in the town for 16 years. Her husband, Bob Simpson also served as mayor from 1974-1983. They are the only husband and wife to have both served as mayor of the same town in New Brunswick history.
Rowena Simpson is also the aunt of
